Sometimes you make a purchase because an item is practical and a wardrobe staple. You know you'll wear it for years to come and its a great investment for your wardrobe. Other times you stare at a shirt on a mannequin. After 10 minutes you finally decide to try it on. You fall in love because you feel like a superhero with a cape!
I'm not saying which of the above scenarios are how I purchased this top, but you can now call me super girl! This cape top is a subtle statement piece. I love pieces with unexpected details and this cape back is definitely one! The front is a simple silk top with a fluttery sleeve. It also comes in white and grey, but I think the navy color is quite special. It pairs with so many bright colors!
I have already worn this top several times in the last month. This look was for a baby shower last weekend. For a more subdued look, I styled it with some off white wide leg pants and black pumps. When Spring is here I plan to put it with my white jeans or a pencil skirt (like this one). Just because an item is a statement piece doesn't mean it can't be versatile!
