A Special Dress for a Special Day

A Special Dress for a Special Day

I love shopping for dresses. But when one of your best friends, since birth, is getting married you need something really special! The wedding was in New Orleans and was truly one of the prettiest, most fun weddings I've ever been to! Not to mention seeing a best friend get married gives me all the feels. I know I have a great time when I don't remember to take many pictures! It's bad for a blog post but a great night of memories.

Finding a dress for a March wedding can sometimes be difficult. Depending on the location it may feel like spring or winter. And even if the weather is Spring like, I'm not quite ready for all out pastels! I've always been a fan of Self Portrait and their dresses have are especially stunning. But I've never had a reason to purchase one until now. This green lace midi dress was something I couldn't turn down. It may be my favorite dress I've ever owned. The combination of the cinched in waist and tiers of lace, create a hourglass figure. Not to mention the green color is so rich and gorgeous! I love that this color will work for any season. Self portrait dresses are a bit of a splurge, but their attention to detail make them worth the price tag.

The dress truly speaks for itself and I already know of a few more events I can't wait to wear this dress to!

Velvet and Lace

Velvet and Lace

Dressing for holiday parties is half the fun! Party dresses are always a fun option but I wanted to mix it up a bit with a fun pant option. I bought this tank and lace pants both from JCrew! Their latest collection has had so many great pieces and I want about everything. I love this and this too!

To keep black on black from being boring, focuson on mixing textures. These lace pants may be my favorite find of the season. The fit is flattering on many body types. The waistband is elastic and its so comfortable! I'm always drawn to peplum and this velvet tank was no exception. I love how the velvet and lace mix together. Add just a few gold accessories to complet the look.

What are you wearing to your holiday parties?
