Toting Around



Sometimes just carrying your purse isn't enough. Sometimes you need your laptop, ipad, planner, camera and everything else with you. These are the times you need a trusty tote. I've found a few that will not only get everything you need from place to place but are stylish too! 

This bag is a perfect hybrid of a tote and purse. It has a specific compartment for your laptop, pens, credit cards and many other things. It may be the ultimate bag for staying organized! An less expensive alternative is this tote from Target. It still has a compartment for your laptop and a small pocket keeps your small items from getting lost in the bag.

The geometric tote is reminiscent of higher end bags at a fraction of the price. It doesn't have any extra compartments

Business in the Front



Sometimes you make a purchase because an item is practical and a wardrobe staple. You know you'll wear it for years to come and its a great investment for your wardrobe. Other times you stare at a shirt on a mannequin. After 10 minutes you finally decide to try it on. You fall in love because you feel like a superhero with a cape!





I'm not saying which of the above scenarios are how I purchased this top, but you can now call me super girl! This cape top is a subtle statement piece. I love pieces with unexpected details and this cape back is definitely one! The front is a simple silk top with a fluttery sleeve. It also comes in white and grey, but I think the navy color is quite special. It pairs with so many bright colors!

I have already worn this top several times in the last month. This look was for a baby shower last weekend. For a more subdued look, I styled it with some off white wide leg pants and black pumps. When Spring is here I plan to put it with my white jeans or a pencil skirt (like this one). Just because an item is a statement piece doesn't mean it can't be versatile!

Save and Splurge: Tassel Sandals


Tassels are everywhere this Spring and I'm in love with them. Shoes are one of my favorite places to wear tassels. It spices up both heels and flats. I've pulled together six different types of tassel adorned shoes (ok, so one pair is pom poms and not tassels) in two price options.  As the weather warms up any of these options will add to your Spring wardrobe!

Drug Store Beauty


I'm a firm believer that you don't have to pay a lot for some great beauty products! My makeup drawer is an equal mix of drugstore and higher end products. I even prefer some drugstore to their higher end equivalents. I still use this drugstore Micellar water every morning and night! I've put together a list of some of my current loves.  
1. Maybelline Color Sensation Lipstick in Are You Red-dy - I bought this on a whim awhile ago and rediscovered it a month ago. It's not quite a true red but one that has a bit of pink to it. I love the creamy consistency and how great it feels on my lips. My purse is a constant rotation of lip colors and this one will be staying in there for awhile. 

2. Nivea In Shower Nourishing Lotion - As someone who never remembers to put on lotion, this is a lifesaver. You put this on after you wash your body and then rinse it off, it's as easy as that! If you are someone that routinely puts on lotion, I wouldn't say this is a better alternative. It is great if you are like me and never can remember to put any lotion on!

3. Baby Foot Exfoliating Foot Peel - As I write this, I'm using this product! I like to use this foot peel as soon as it is sandal season. The product comes with two booties that you wear for an hour. Around 5 days later your feet will start peeling off all of the dry, dead skin. I'll admit that it is a little weird but its also equally satisfying to see the old skin come off of your feet. After your skin is done peeling they will feel baby soft!

4. Maybelline Brow Drama Palette in Blonde - I have been very into my brows lately. I still love this product but feel like a powder was the next step. Without a big money commitment, this palette can fill in your eyebrows perfectly. 

5. Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer - After binge watching some beauty tutorials, I had to try this primer out. I think it is as good as any high end one I've used! Not only does it help your makeup stay on, but it creates a smooth canvas for your makeup. Primer may not be something you want to wear everyday, but for special occasions or particularly long days, it is totally worth the extra step!

Classic Nude Pumps


Spring is getting so close! Although I think there are no real rules to fashion and you can wear anything any season, Spring makes me want to pull out pastels, whites and other soft colors. I have my eye on several white dresses to add to my wardrobe. The best accessory to all of these looks is a nude shoe!  Nude pumps are truly a closet staple and will be worn season to season! They are also a piece that can be worn in so many settings whether its work, a date or an event!

One of the best things about nude pumps is how they elongate your legs! A colored shoe creates a break for the eye from your foot and your leg. The nude pump creates one long line making your legs look longer, and who doesn't love that!!

Even the basic pairs are far from boring! For a classic look I love this one and this one. The gold detail on these adds just a bit of extra pop. If you are wanting a lower heel, this pair works well and still has the classic pointed toe. 

Beyond the basic pump, there are tons of nude pumps with special details! The mesh detail on these is a way to bring the cut out trend to your feet. The D'Orsay shape is another trend that is here to stay. This pair combines that style with bit of lace for a romantic touch. My absolute favorite pair has to be this one with the bow detail! They are a great price compared to the designer pair I've been lusting over for a year!

Grey Jeans and Red





 


Grey jeans have become my new favorites! It's not the first time they've shown up on the blog (last seen here). But they have been worn at least once a week as of lately! I love how it is such a simple change from regular blue jeans but it makes a big statement. I'm excited to pair the grey jeans with blush and white for spring!

The Tippi Sweater from JCrew has been a favorite of mine for quite awhile, I own it in 4 colors. It is the perfect layering sweater because its thin enough that you can put something under and over it. It's also works well tucked into things too. I stayed classic with this outfit buy layering a simple button down under the red sweater. With the gorgeous weather we had on Sunday, only a light jacket was needed. I almost always pull out my leather jacket in these instances. 

I've featured this purse a lot in the last month and now it is on sale! Get it quick before it is gone. Even though it is a busy pattern, I've found that it goes with everything!

Give it the Cold Shoulder

Lately I have had my eyes on the cold shoulder trend, tops, sweaters and dresses with a peekaboo slit of shoulder showing. I love how it is a subtle way of adding a bit of sex appeal to an outfit. I'm less is more when it comes to showing skin and the shoulder is an unexpected way to do it. 

Off the shoulder has been on trend for the last year but it's hard to do with the cold temperatures. Cold shoulder tops let you have that look while style being weather appropriate. As we get closer to spring (I can't wait) these tops are great transition pieces for warming temperatures. Now you can pair them with slacks and jeans and in the spring they'll go great with your favorite shorts! This light blue top might be my favorite, I would love to pair it with white denim. This grey sweater dresses up your typical jeans and sweater look.

For those that need work to drinks looks cold shoulder tops are perfect! Add a blazer or jacket for work and then take it off after work. You then have a fun, sexy look for a date or drinks! This pink blouse would look great with a black or grey blazer.

Last day in Breckenridge







My last post in Breckenridge was photographed in my last moments in Breckenridge. On our 2nd to last day we worried about a possible blizzard coming overnight and we may get stuck in Breckenridge. Honestly, being snowed in in Breck didn't seem like such a bad thing! We didn't wake up to a blizzard just several inches of fresh beautiful snow! After we packed up the cars, we couldn't resist a little photo shoot with all the beautiful powder.

For a day of travel in the car and on the plane, comfort was key. My faithful plaid shirt (seen here and here) was the perfect layer under a fleece vest! This vest has great possibilities. I love it for casual looks like this one or paired with your favorite workout clothes. It is thin but still provides a lot of warmth.


I bought these Sorel boots last winter. They are the warmest boots and I wore them almost the entire trip! If you live anywhere that gets snow or ice during the winter, I strongly recommend them. Besides being warm, they are stylish and come in tons of different colors!

Adventures in Breckenridge







I can't say it enough, I love traveling! If you saw this post or follow me on instagram you know I was in Breckenridge about a week ago! One of my favorite thins about Breckenridge is how adorable the town is. Walking down main street feels like something out of a fairy tale. Each store front and restaurant is cuter than the next. At night there are Christmas lights everywhere and it truly is magical!

After a morning on the slopes our group walked around the town and shopped a bit. It was the perfect time to stop and take a few outfit pictures. As you know, I love a turtleneck and this turtleneck sweater and hat were made for snowy adventures! I was dressed to match the beautiful surroundings. When its below freezing, snow boots and a ski jacket are must haves no matter what you are doing.

Pink is My Favorite Color


A great way to get festive for Valentine's Day is a pink lip! Pink looks good on almost every skin color. Whether you want a bold lipstick or more subtle lip balm, I've got just what you need!
Mac lipsticks are always a favorite of mine. They have hundreds of colors and so many different finishes. Impassioned is the perfect traditional pink color! It brightens up your face with just a swipe of the color. If you want a bolder look, All Fired Up is a hot pink in a matte finish!

I just recently found out about Colour Pop. I bought several of their Lippie Stix and l really love I Heart This. It's an intense pink that lasts on your lips! Each Lippie Stix is only $5. It's a great way to try out a new color without a big money commitment!

Stains are always a good option, especially if you don't want your significant other to wear your lip color! This Revlon Lip Stain has lasted me thru a full wedding without reapplying! For a more subtle look, the Bare Escentuals Lip Balm is a must. It provides a swipe of color in a very pretty shade of pink! This color would work on almost anyone!

Sweater Dress








It's no secret that I love sweater dresses (see here). I would recommend having a few (or a lot) in your wardrobe for fall and winter. I got this one as a Christmas gift (thanks Dad!). With such a simple, this dress gives you tons of options when styling it. It went classic here with tights, pumps and a snakeskin clutch. These fun statement earrings add some fun personality! Another fun option would be to wear it with some colorful tights.

Boots and a sweater dress are a no brainer combination! Over the knee boots, ankle booties, and riding boots would all look great with a sweater dress! I've worn this dress to work with my favorite over the knee boots (seen here). When it gets warmer, I'll lose the tights and pair it with booties!

Everyday K is 1!!


Today, Everyday K is one years old! I feel so privileged to have a place to share my thoughts on fashion, beauty and other lifestyle topics! To anyone reading this, THANK YOU!!! I truly appreciate every single one of you! I have lots of plans for this next year that I can't wait to share! Stay tuned for lots of new and exciting things!

To celebrate today I wanted to share what may be one of my favorite outfits ever!







Normally I would say leather (faux or not) wouldn't belong in my workplace but there are always exceptions. The inverted pleats, high waist and knee length give this leather skirt a bit of a lady like feel! By staying conservative with all the other pieces you can create a work appropriate look. Although this skirt is faux leather, you wouldn't know it by the quality!

I, once again, kept a black and white palette and used this purse as a splash of color! This checkered shirt is one of my favorite weekend pieces (see here) but also works tucked into the high waisted leather skirt. I topped it off with tights and the bow booties that I can't get enough of (see here and here).

Working in a business casual workplace, I think it's important to invest in a quality dress coat. This one is not only the perfect length but super warm and comfortable. Throw this on over anything and you instantly look more sophisticated. Since it is a bit of an investment,  I stuck with black so I know I'll wear it forever. I have put together several coats that I love here
