Packing List: Breckenridge


One of my favorite things in life is traveling! I absolutely love researching a place and then discovering all that it has to offer while I'm there. I also love revisiting some of my favorite places. I arrived in Breckenridge yesterday with 7 other girls. We are having one of my best friend's bachelorette party here with a weekend of skiing, girl time and yummy drinks!

I have been going to Breckenridge since I was little! My family and I went on these awesome ski trips growing up and Breckenridge was one of our favorite places to go. I actually learned to ski here when I was 3. It's still just as fun here as I remember. 


Like any trip, what you pack is important! I'll be sharing some outfits in the next few weeks but for now here is my packing list. I have two lists ski and Apres ski!

Red and Pink


Valentine's day is a little over two weeks away. Last year my friend and I decorated the house and hosted a bunch of our girlfriends over for a Galentine's DinnerNo matter how you are celebrating (or not celebrating) I still think it is fun to be festive and wear red or pink! Whether you want a subtle pop in a shoe or purse or a full on red and pink outfit, these picks have something for you! 


I have started to see slip dresses everywhere and really think they are going to be popular again soon. This red slip dress is gorgeous and has a great little surprise in the back.  I am in love with this crop top  and matching skirt. Worn together they look like the perfect dress for date night but you can pair them separately with so many items already in your closet. 

I'm never one to shy away from a pink dress (seen here) and this wrap version is actually really versatile. Pair it with some amazing heels for your Valentine's date now (maybe red heels?). Later you can add some wedges or flats and wear it to a shower.  Other great date looks are this romper (wear with tights if its cold), this midi skirt and this dress!

Going for a more casual vibe on Valentine's Day? This heart sweatshirt is as comfortable as it is cute! This pink sweater and pink flats are also great ways to get in the Valentine's spirit.

Wrapped up in plaid






Sometimes you have to let the coat do the talking! I have several solid color classic coats so I wanted something I have been looking for something a bit more fun. I found this coat a few weeks before Christmas and love the pattern. It's soft and comfortable like a sweater but since it's a coat it is much warmer! Just add some jeans, t-shirt and booties and it's an outfit. It's also a great coat for both casual and dressy occasions. The best part is that it is on sale!!

Let's Get Organized


I didn't post a formal list of my New Year's Resolutions. Instead I'm going to do some posts over the next few months about how I'm accomplishing my resolutions (or atleast trying to). Once of my major ones is to declutter my house! I've made a list of everything that needs to be organized. While I have only marked off a few on the list, my jewelry was one of them.

Whether it's a ring passed down from my mom, a necklace my dad gave me or the latest statement necklace I bought, I love jewelry! At least once a year I like to go thru all of it. I will get rid of any costume jewelry that I haven't worn in awhile or isn't in style anymore. I clean my nicer jewelry and make sure it is in good condition. 


Once I've decided what I'm keeping, it was time to organize and display it well. I like to display my jewelry instead of putting it in a jewelry box. If I can't see my jewelry I will never wear it! I try to stick to clear acrylic jewelry stands and trays. I love trays for rings, earrings and any other smaller pieces of jewelry. These trays stack so you can get as many or as little as you need. Since they are clear it's really easy to find what you are looking for. 

 My jewelry is in side an armoire in my room. My bracelets and necklaces have their place on these display cases. Dainty or long,  this display tree has lots of branches to keep your necklaces separated and prevents tangling. You can adjust the branches too, so it is completely customizable for what you need. This velvet stand was the last piece I found. I like how it displays statement necklaces like stores do.

Wardrobe Redo & National Cheese Lover's Day


Did you know that today is National Cheese Lover's day? If I had known this in advance I would have planned a very different post for today! We'll all just have to settle for this style post and vow to celebrate the day by indulging in some cheesy bread or mac & cheese or both!

I love to shop and finding new pieces of clothing to add to my wardrobe is always fun. A new blouse or dress seems to make my wardrobe feel new or more exciting. I also find equal joy in finding new outfits with items I already own! I'm going to start posting wardrobe flashbacks where I feature a piece previously seen on Everyday K and rework it! Since most of these items aren't new, I'll link similar pieces below. 






I previously wore this windowpane skirt last spring in this post. This time around I wore it to two wedding showers I attended on Saturday. I kept the color palette black and white to keep it classic. Keeping up my with my love of faux fur, I added this infinity scarf. It's an easy way to elevate any look.

Beauty RX: bareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer


I always like to use a product for a few months before I give a review or recommend it. I didn't realize until the other day that I hadn't talked about my current favorite beauty product. Only after discussing concealers on a group text did I realize I hadn't posted about this concealer!

I've already sang the praises of this Bare Escentuals foundation and still use it everyday! More recently I have started using the bareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer. I needed something to cover my dark circles and even out a few areas around my nose. I looked at a few different concealers but liked the reviews of this one. After a couple tries I was not disappointed! It is thick enough to cover my dark circles even when they are at their worst.
It has a staying power that not many other concealers do. Even after a long day, the concealer has stayed put and not wandered to other parts of my face.  I have seen a difference in the texture of my skin too, and I think it is from the serum aspect of the concealer. The serum also makes the concealer super blendable. You can layer it for those areas that need a bit extra cover.

Application
This is how I use the bareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer in my daily makeup routine. My problem areas are under eye circles and redness around my nose.



  1. Apply Bare Escentuals foundation all over my face (see here).
  2. Apply a liberal amount of concealer under each eye. 
  3. Using this brush, I blend the concealer out in an upside down triangle shape below my eyelid. I concentrate more of the concealer on the inside part because that is where I have the most darkness. 
  4. Dot a small amount on the red areas around my nose. I then use the same brush to blend the concealer.
  5. Brush translucent powder over my entire face to set the foundation and concealer.
  6. Finish with the rest of your makeup routine.
Sometimes I'll also apply a small amount around my lips, if I plan to wear a darker or bold lipstick color. The concealer will help prevent the color from bleeding.

More Grey with a Pop of Color







I've again found myself in a grey/blue combination! I just love grey in the winter! This sweater has been such a great purchase. I found it on sale and have worn it so many times. The side slits make the oversize fit more flattering. Since it is longer in the back you can also wear it with leggings. 

When I first purchased the over the knee boots I was worried I wouldn't wear them very much (see here). I soon realized that they go with about anything so I knew buying another pair was a good idea. I went for flat ones to make them more casual. These are the kind of boots you can wear all day!

Since I find myself wearing so many dark colors (especially grey) I need a good way to add color to  my outfits. I usually to my accessories to help brighten things up. This purse is the perfect answer!! The dark background keeps the purse appropriate for winter and the floralish pattern is so bright and colorful! This purse has become my go to for a pop of color! I also love the size. Its big enough for all of your essentials but not too big!

Leather and Fur







I first mentioned leather leggings here. It took awhile for me to finally buy some and now I have no idea why! The pair I'm wearing here are on sale and fit true to size.  You can elevate any outfit by just replacing your jeans with the leather leggings! I like the edge it adds to my outfits. Dressy or casual, leather leggings can get a lot of wear in your wardrobe. I plan to wear them next with a casual sweater and flats. 

I promised you would see this vest again soon (last seen here)! It really is such a fun piece and a must for any winter wardrobe!

Staying Warm


We had a light dusting of snow on the ground when I woke up on Saturday! I think it looks so beautiful outside but it also means that the temps are bitterly cold. I have been scouting thru the coat selection to find a new piece of outerwear. The great thing about buying coats in January is that many have gone on sale yet you'll still be able to use it this season! From neutral to puffy, I have a pulled together a wide variety below. 

 1 - 2 - 3

I love these soft neutrals, it's a great change from your typical dark coats. Although it is pink, this one would work with about any color. It's an especially great option to go over your work wear. Paired with dark colors, the contrast can really make a statement.

4 - 5 - 6

Belted options are great when you are worried about looking bulky. The tie waist is figure flattering even when you are wearing several layers. The combination of the long length and tie waist creates an hourglass figure.

7 - 8 - 9

Keeping warm doesn't mean you have to look bad! These down coats will keep you toasty and the colors are right on trend. I love the fur collar on this one and its on sale!!

10 - 11 - 12

I love the geometric patterns on these! The stripes and plaid make these coats anything but ordinary. The stripes on this fur coat are a fun take on faux fur. 

13 - 14 - 15

Classic wool coats are always in style! They will keep you warm even on the coldest days. This classic pea coat is a steal and will be worn for years. As I've said before (see here) I love capes! This wool cape coat is a way to keep wearing the trend even when it gets really cold.

Brunch with my Babes






There really isn't anything better than brunch with some of your best girlfriends! Sunday I did just that! We caught up on everything we did over Christmas and NYE over avocado toast and lots of coffee. It was seriously the best way to start off a week. 

I ran a bunch of errands after brunch so I kept my outfit simple and comfortable. My brother got me this sweater for Christmas! I have found a few other fun patterned sweaters like this one, this one and this one. I love wearing booties and boots during the winter but I still love my Keds and this pair is on sale!

Trending: Turtlenecks


While the turtleneck is definitely nothing new in the fashion world, it seems to be having its moment again this Fall and Winter! I've always been a big fan of turtlenecks and look forward to pulling them out when it starts to get cold. 

1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 10 - 11 - 12

This season I have found myself eyeing (and purchasing) a few turtleneck items, especially sweaters! Turtleneck sweaters range from oversized and casual to slim fitting. Most can be dressed up or down. If you are afraid the extra fabric around the neck will make you look bulkier stick with a fitted style. For something really versatile, this sweater has a removable turtleneck!

 For a comfy work look you can pair a turtleneck sweater with slim fitting work pants and your favorite heels. Another option is a turtleneck sweater dress! With tights and boots, you are ready for a day at work. I typically don't wear a lot of jewelry with a turtleneck except for some statement studs.

For an off duty look pair the turtleneck with your favorite jeans and knee high or over the knee boots. This look is simple but makes a statement! I particularly like the oversized sweaters like this one and this one. If you are going for a super trendy look, tuck just the front into your jeans.

Tie It Up









Anything that is tunic length is typically something I'll gravitate towards, add a bow and I'm definitely in! I picked this green tunic up a while ago and have worn it several times. The 3/4 length sleeves are great for showing off a bracelet stack or just one statement piece like this Loren Hope cuff.  Another reason to love this tunic is now that it is on sale and so are the pants i'm wearing!

While the tunic is cute on its own, I loved adding a faux fur vest to it! I wear this vest a lot but it's especially perfect when it's chilly out but you don't quite need to wear a coat. You will probably see this vest show up on here again! There are so many ways to layer a faux fur vest that you can really make it your style! There are limited sizes left in this one but I love this one and this one

Suede Dress


Happy New Year!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year! 
Sorry I have been away from the blog, I took a break over the Holidays to refresh and relax. Today is the first day of a brand new year. I hope you are off of work and recovering from your fun New Year's Eve festivities!! I'm not the biggest fan of NYE because I feel that it never quite meets expectations. My favorite NYE celebrations have always been when I'm taking it easy and having a night in at someone's house. 






I have no idea why it took me so long to post this suede dress! I have worn it more times than I can count! It's been the perfect work to party dress. The suede material is soft and very flattering. The dress is currently sold out but this, this and this are great options!

Above is how I have worn it to work. Since the dress is short sleeved I paired it with a blanket scarf from this post. With a blanket scarf and my favorite booties, its an easy go to outfit.

I also wore this dress to a Christmas party. I dressed up the suede dress with black over the knee heeled boots, tights and statement earrings. I love items that can be worn for different occasions based on how you style it!
