Gift Guide for the Women in your Life

I called this the "Mom" gift guide but really it is for any of the women in your life! Moms, Aunts, Sisters, Grandmas, Teachers, Mentors... any of them would appreciate these gifts!

A quality dress coat is a must in any closet! I got this one for my Birthday last year and love it. It comes back every year and there is a reason. The shape is flattering and its so warm! When the temperatures drop, I pair this with everything from denim and sweaters to my favorite holiday dresses. It looks great with this faux fur scarf!

Jewelry is always a good idea! I love the classic look of these pearl drop earrings. This watch is classic with the black and gold but the flower on the face makes it a little more unique. Loren Hope makes some of my favorite jewelry pieces. This cuff comes in several colors.

The cold makes everyone want to spend more time at home. For a cozy themed gift put this initial mug with this fringe sweater. You could also add some hot chocolate mix or a favorite coffee!

Red lips are always a good time, especially during the Holidays! This kit has two mini berry colors and two pretty nail colors.

For a luxrious or pampering gift, this set of lotions is the ultimate luxury!

Gift Guide under $50

Today starts my week of gift guides!! I'll have four more to come soon so stay tuned! For today's I put together a variety of gifts that are under $50. Many of these make great stocking stuffers. They are also good gifts for Christmas parties where you play dirty santa or another gift game.

For the beauty junkie this eyeliner is a fun addition to anyone's make up bag. I also love this lip gloss set! This mat helps you clean your makeup brushes.

I've given this cookbook as a gift many times for showers and birthdays! I like to add a cute oven mitt like this one to it.

This blanket scarf and infinity scarf are super cozy!

This velvet t-shirt is soft and looks way more expensive than it is!

For anyone on your shopping list that loves their home or to decorate, I have several recommendations. I love this candle set. The pineapple dish works well on a coffee table, as a jewelry dish or on an end table. These coasters make a funny but still practical gift!

Fitness Gift Guide

We all have friends that love to work out. They are the girl's that are trying all of the latest and newest workouts. Their favorite way to relieve stress is a good sweat session! For these girls or any girls that love the athleisure trend I have the gift picks for them!

Most girls have several pairs of basic black leggings. These color block leggings are a step above the basics! I also love these print leggings.

Health and exercise trackers are always a popular gift. Kate Spade just came out with their version and this is definitely on my Christmas list!!

I love the open back on this top! This sweatshirt is a bit retro and great for after workouts. I also love the asymmetrical neck on this top.

For anyone that runs or work outs outside, this vest is a necessary layer in the winter. It is thin enough not to hinder your workouts but it will definitely keep you warm!

A new gym bag makes a great gift! This one has tons of great features. I love that it has a heat resistant pocket for your curling iron or flat iron. For a smaller

Cozy Gift Guide

Believe it or not, it is time for gift guides again! I am definitely one of those people that holds off on the Christmas music and decor until after Thanksgiving! I like to let Fall have its time. One thing I do think about before Turkey day is my Christmas shopping list. I like to get together a game plan so I am not shopping at the last minute. I also find that once my shopping is done I enjoy the rest of the Christmas season alot more.

Today I'm sharing my first guide guide and I will have many more to come! Each guide will have a theme or person they are for. I hope to inspire you and help ease the stress of Holiday shopping. Let me know if you have any specific requests!

This gift guide is all about being cozy! Do you know anyone that loves to spend quality time at home? Well this gift guide is for them.

Christmas is the perfect time to get a new pair of pajamas! There are so many pajama sets to pick from but I love the classic colors on this one. These socks and mocassins are fur lined and feel super luxurious and soft.

If you know someone that is into skin care, this Mario Badescu set has a little bit of everything. If you are looking for something a little more fun, bath bombs are a fun gift for any age. I recommend you mix and match the scents and colors and put together a great gift!

If you have friends and family that like to decorate, I would recommend this fur blanket! There really is nothing better than lounging with a soft blanket. It is not only a way to decorate but practical too. I love bringing out blankets when it gets cold out!

Another great idea for the homebody is a good book! I've recommended a few here and here. A book and a blanket or book and candles would be the perfect combination!

Long Vest and Over the Knee Boots

How was your weekend? I had an exhausting but inspiring weekend. Friday was a great night out with one of my girlfriends. There is nothing like drinks and girl talk to totally rejuvenate me! Yesterday I spent the day at a 5K to raise money to fight lung cancer. I had an incredible amount of friends and family support me and help my team! The love and support I received was overwhelming. It was a long and exhausting day but I went to bed with the biggest smile on my face!

Now that we finally have fall temperatures in Oklahoma, I can't stop wearing a few of my favorite pieces! I first talked about long vests in this post here. I bought this one at the beginning of Fall but haven't been able to really wear it til now. It is now sold out but this one is really similar! I love the gold color too! I found a few other great vests here, here and here!

While this look is not the only way to wear the vest it may be my favorite! I let the vest be the star of the look and kept everything else simple. Burgundy and black may be my favorite Fall color combination. A black long sleeve t-shirt and jeans can really be dressed up a hundred different ways. A few seasons ago, over the knee boots were a popular trend. Now they have basically become a Fall and Winter must have. Because they are so popular it is easier to find them in all price ranges. My boots are sold out but I have found a few pairs that are just as great. This pair comes in both black and tan and are so affordable! If you able to invest a little more, I would highly recommend this pair! I spent a little more on my pair. I wear my over the knee boots at least once a week in the Fall and Winter so they were worth the investment.

I wore this look to run errands and grab a quick dinner with friends. It could also be worn for a casual date night look. For work, I've paired this vest with both dresses and black pants. Long vests are versatile enough to wear for almost any occasion!

Fall Reads

Now that it finally feels like Fall (YAY!) and it gets dark around 5:30pm an evening curled up with a good book sounds more appealing than ever. Add a glass of wine and I might as well be in heaven. I'm sharing some more book reads today. A few of these I've read and a few are on my list!

Scrappy Little Nobody - As soon as I knew one of my favorite actresses was writing a book, I preordered it! Anna Kendrick is a self described "weirdo" and I hope her sharp wit translates into this book. I can't wait to hear her take on her rise to stardom, it seems like it is a unique one.

Big Little Lies - Recommended by a friend, this book is actually about to be a HBO series starring Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman. The book brings together 3 woman with children in the same grade. It's one of those books where not everyone is as they seem. I've heard there is an interesting twist! It's on my list next to read.

The Night Circus - This is very different from the books I typically read. I fell in love with the descriptive language, it had my imagination on hyper drive! The circus comes without warning and it's unlike anything you have ever seen before and then it is gone. Behind the scenes there is even more going on than one would expect. Two magicians are challenged against each other and it affects everyone in their path. This story will take you back in time, it's part love story and part challenge but it will always keep you guessing.

The Goldfinch - After a young boy endures a great tragedy and loses his mother, he is taken in by a wealthy family. Now he is in a world he has never known. Trying to find something to remind himself of his mother, he clings to the world of art. As an adult this world takes him many places, even a few dangerous ones.

Plaid Dress (50% off)

I am so happy to report that it feels like Fall in Oklahoma! The cool weather has really changed my mood the last few days. I finally feel that it is November and that turkey day is coming. This weekend I was able to enjoy the weather with some of my best friends while we had Friendsgiving. We had the best time hanging out with a glass of wine and catching up while we waited for the feast to be ready! Friendsgiving has definitely changed since the first year we had it, now there are kids running around babies to hold! So much to be thankful for!

My look here was perfect for Friendsgiving! This plaid dress is the perfect Fall dress and it's 50% off. Madwell always has some of my favorite Fall pieces (like this plaid peplum top).  For Friendsgiving I needed an outfit that gave my plenty of room for seconds (and dessert!)! I love how this dress fits like a tunic and is very flattering. The tassel ties and pockets add fun details. It's the type of casual dress that I love. I've had it for over a month and seem to wear it each week. Before Fall weather came, I wore with flats and sandals. Now that it actually feels like November outside, I like to dress it up with brown wedge booties. A jean jacket or jean vest will be a great addition to this outfit as well.

This dress fits true to size and I am wearing a size medium. I also love this plaid dress and this buffalo plaid dress! Here is another plaid dress at a great price. If you want a dressier plaid dress, I would recommend this one!

Oldies but Goodies

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I was busy hosting a couple's shower for one of my best friends on Saturday. On Sunday I had my first taste of Thanksgiving when one of my friends had us all over for Friendsgiving! I brought the pies!!

As much as I love new clothes, there is nothing like getting out your favorites when a new season is here. I thought I would share some of my favorite looks from last Fall. I've found the same or similar pieces for each look!

Crinkled Velvet

For as long as I can remember I've loved clothes. Dresses have always been a personal favorite and for a year or two in elementary school (around first grade) they were the only thing I would wear. My mom said I was so strong on my refusal to wear pants that she didn't but me any for over a year.

There are a few outfits from childhood that I can remember in particular. One was a blue crushed velvet dress my mom bought me to wear for Christmas Mass. It was a deep dark navy and so soft! I felt beyond glamorous in the shift dress. I can remember wearing it with tights and mary jane flats at Christmas. Every chance I got I would want to wear it again. I can remember my mom telling me several times that I wasn't allowed to wear it when I went to play outside or ride my bike.

As soon as I saw this dress online I had an instant wave of nostalgia. I was 8 again and wearing the blue velvet dress my mom had picked out for me! It felt very meant to be when I tried this dress on. It's the modern version of my Christmas dress!

Even if you aren't reliving your childhood, like yours truly, this dress is a great addition for anyone's closet! The crinkled velvet adds even more texture to the dress. I've styled it here how I wore it out for a fun and casual night out in Austin. The shape is flattering but I still had room for all the Mexican food and margaritas we had! (#priorities) Since it isn't too cool yet, black booties were sufficient for an evening. When it cools off my over the knee boots and leather jacket will add edge to the dress!

Probably the best part about this crinkled velvet dress is that it is on sale this weekend! Use code WinWin for 20% off it and all dresses at Anthropologie! I love this velvet shirtdress too! Thisthisthis, and this would be great for any upcoming holiday parties or winter weddings! If you have been eyeing any dresses from Anthropologie now is the time to get one.

November Wishlist

November is hands down my favorite month of the year! Fall is in full swing and I get to wear my favorite fashion. In November we celebrate Thanksgiving and now the Holidays are on their way but it is not as stressful as December. My birthday also happens to be during my favorite month (coincidence?) so naturally the first post needs to be a wishlist!

Plaid Scarf Cape - This large scarf has armholes so you can wear it as a cape or a scarf. The versatile piece will layer over all of my favorite outfits.

Kaleidoscope Shirtdress - I have tried this dress on twice at Anthropologie but haven't bought it yet. I love the flirty style and how well it will pair with my favorite boots. It would be great for Thanksgiving dinner or a fun night out with my friends.

Cape Toggle Coat - I have a classic wool pea coat already so a fun cape version would be a cool alternative. This casual style would be a fun weekend look to wear with jeans and boots. I definitely have a thing for capes but this is a different version I don't have.

Shorts Pajama Sets - I have an obsession with pajama sets! The pattern on this one is so adorable. All I want to do is put on these pjs and curl up on my couch with some hot chocolate.

Glitter Ankle Strap Pumps - What a statement maker! These shoes will elevate any look. I'd love to have these for holiday parties and dates!

Pleated Midi Skirt - I've wanted to try the pleated skirt trend for awhile. This one is such a rich green color that I'd love to add to my wardrobe. I could dress this up for work with a blouse and heels. On the weekends a cozy sweater and ankle booties is all I need to go to dinner with friends.

Sailor Wool Skirt - Mustard has been one of my favorite colors for Fall for years. It's hard to find the right shade of mustard and this skirt is spot on. The gold buttons add a special touch!

Velvet Wrap Top - A velvet dream! The jewel colors on this wrap top are so rich. How great would this be for a holiday party?
